“Greatest Hits — Live!” (originally a double LP) was recorded at London’s Dominion Theatre in October 1980, at the end of the UK tour that accompanied McLean’s Number 1 hit “Crying”, included here.
Also featured are stunning versions of the hits “Vincent”, “Wonderful Baby” and of course “American Pie”.
Originally issued in two parts in 1989, “For The Memories” contains McLean’s readings of classic songs like “(What A) Wonderful World”, “It Had To Be You”, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and many more, accompanied by Elvis Presley’s backing vocalists, The Jordanaires. The booklet contains annotation by Don McLean himself.
