William Lee(PETER WELLER),a pest exterminator extraordinarie,
is killing cockroaches for the citizens with his poison. However,
his wife Joan(JUDY DAVIS)becomes hooked on poison powder
and Lee's grim little life starts to whirl out of control.He meets
narcotics detectives, giant,talking beetle, sinister Doctor...In a
pawn shop, William trades his gun for a portable typewriter,
which later sprouts legs and wings, transforming itself into a
grotesque, intelligent mechanical insect. William starts to write
dubious reports on his insect-typewriter,Lee becomes a haunted
man, he loses all sense of time, of space and of himself.He is trying
to write something that will become one of the most influential novels
of the century, a series of reports eventually to be called NAKED LUNCH
